5k Flat Spot

Im experiencing a big flat spot sometimes at 5k rpm any ideas what this could be? gen 7 vvtli

No idea what this could be. When you say 'flatspot' do you mean the torque tails off a bit or does the engine splutter/stutter?

If it's the former, then that's pretty normal as there is a slight dip in torque before you hit 6,200rpm when lift activates.

If it's the latter, try disconnecting the Battery then pumping the brake pedal to remove all current and leave for 30mins. Reconnect the Battery and start the car again - leave it to idle for 5 mins and then take it for a spin. By resetting the ECU this might help.

If this doesn't help, take it down to Mr T and get them to hook it up and run a diagnostic check.
