Anyone else find the `B` setting good for going smoothly down steep hills around town?? B)

Particularly good in view of the icey weather.

AND it tops your Battery up nicely :hokus-pokus:

I use it quite a bit pottering round the Peak District. Interestingly, when the Battery gets 100% full, the noise seems to increase as though it's using the engine for braking. Who knows?

Using the B setting uses up the Battery and not top it up I believe.

Form my experisnce the 'D' setting recharges the Battery, and creates a bit of braking drag due to alternator resistance.

Changing to 'B' adds the engine for braking as well till the Battery is full. I would expect the alternator to cut out then to avoid overcharging.

Not sure why it makes more noise thereafter.

It makes more noise because it's creating more engine braking to replace the missing alternator resistance.

That's the conclusion I'd come to also.
