I went for black too (well kinda gunmetal colour really) and yeah i think it looks good on silver.

they were only 428 quid too. was a bit wary of that cause they're probably not a very good brand but they've been fine so far.

Bit to detailed for me .. but the dark on Silver looks good.

I'm going to be going black on black ..

a tin of nitromoors will soon make em silver again.

Sure that this cannot damage anything else and could I leave the tyres on?

just do a small area , or a bit on the back if they are painted also .it may peel off the laquer it may not ????

1) Glad things are working out for you, sounds like you deserve it!

2) Nah, bottled out! I had visions of starting and it going wrong leaving me with blotchy wheels and lots of expense as she would want it fixed "NOW!!!". Think we are going to leave them until the tyres are cooked (won't take long as I drive a !Removed! heavy vectra with traction control and every time I pull away in the Celi I light up the tyres) and then invest in a nice set of 17"

ps Don't tell Nia about lighting the tyres, she will stop letting me drive it :(

Have you found your dream wheels yet?

Giles

Thanks mate :)

No i havent found the wheels i want yet... which is really strange for me as i used to know what wheels i wanted 6 months before being able to afford them :P although i think i have decided to go for 17s

With your wheels, rather than trying to strip them, you could just spray them silver. I did it to my gt4 wheels as the were looking old and dis-coloured.

1. sand it down

2. spray on primer (from pound land lol... good stuff though)

3. spray with silver wheel paint from Halfords (aprox £10)

Very easy job and you cant really go wrong!

Adam

Dunno, I sprayed the steelies on the Golf we are selling to hide the rust and whilst it looks good it is obvious they have been sprayed silver. I am worried the effect will look wrong :( I think I am better waiting until we need new tyres and changing the rims. They are a bit scuffed anyhow. Besides it does look good with the black.

Thanks for the suggestions and I hope your hearts fullfilled with wheels soon :D
