i have never come across a cable for that & i've been doing sterios for a few years now, what make is the stock unit, if they make an aftermarket h/unit then the cables should work on that 1

thats right, if the manufacturer makes an after market h/unit then cables will work on that 1, in my car the h/unit was a sony.

also, i wouldn't go for a sony, i sware by kenwood, alpine or pioneer

it is a toyota head-unit.. no apparent manufacturer other than toyota.

well all i can suggest is you go down to your local in car entertainment shop and ask if they do an interface that would allow you to do what you want, other than that i 'm sorry bit i can't help.

if they do make an interface you will be looking at around the £75 mark probebly.

autoleads do a facia adatptor and a lead

although not a stalk control one.. just a ISO convertor by the looks of it

only thing i can say is if you do go for a sony they mostly come with their own stork control and poss a remote as well

yes i know, i have had many sony headunits in the past.

you don't need to use their stalk controller though.

i converted my previous one in a Renault to the renault fit stalk controller.

autoleads tend to do cables for most.

what about doctering the sony stalk lead to fit the standard 1

and how would that allow me to continue to use the controllers built-in to the steering wheel ?

don't take offence Mike1 - but i'm looking for advice from people who specifically have experience / done this on their 2003> Corolla (i know there are a few on here that have)

sony supply their stalk control with a wire that plugs direct into the back of the head-unit. hardly something you would want to start taking to bits to try and attach to the existing cabling !!

or you can allways go down to the local sterio shop and ask them to make up a connector block for you
