Water In Tank Problem

bought a crap GT4 to strip for parts, found out that the tank has loads of water in it. poured in my vandals.

is there an easy way to drain this or is it a drop tank and empy job :(

best way is drop the tank and drain then leave somewher worm (but ventilated) to dry

Use the fuel pump to empty the tank. Dropping the tank is a pain, even empty. Remove the fuel return pipe from the fuel rail and attach a longer piece of pipe (stick the other end where ever you want to empty to). Then you need 12v across the pump, either disconnect the starter and turn the ignition key all the way to start (and hold it there), or bridge the contacts in the diagnostic connector to run the fuel pump continuously (I think its FP and +B).

Not sure if the water will harm the fuel pump though. :unsure:

Some Celicas (Mine for instance) Have drain plugs in the tanks. :D

The pump should be able to cope with the water without damage provided it`s dried out afterwards. My dad uses a fuel pump to drain his aquarium, been ok for years. :D :thumbsup:
