Gen 5 Import Rear Lights Question

On the UK spec gen 5 the stop and tail is combined into one segement of the light cluster using a dual filament bulb. The other red tinted segment is used purely for the fog light.

Can anyone with a JDM gen 5 confirm if it uses the twin filament bulb setup for stop and tail?

I have a feeling that JDM cars don't have rear fog lamps, so they could use one segment for the stop light and the other for tail lamp (i.e no twin filament bulbs).

I am planning a rear light mod, and this info will influence my approach.

That's what I thought, but do they use twin filament bulbs to combine brake and tail, or are they totally separate?

Ok, it seems that the JDM does use twin filament lamps in both of the red segments to give twin tail and twin brake lights - exactly what I'm trying to convert mine to (whilst retaining the fog light as well). :)

mines a JDM and has twin tail lights but only single brake lights as the others are used for fog lights

That's a very nice example of a gen 5. If I saw one like that for sale I'd probably buy it! The TOM'S Logos would have to go though

My Gen6 Import has two stop and tail lights instead of fog lights so I have the hang down fog light, the bulbs come out easily can you try a twin bulb in the space you are referring to for a quick test?
