When it was released in the UK, I'd say;

An Executive Sports Car.

i.e - not a stand alone sports car, but a fat cat's 'sporty' weekend cruiser.

I wouldn't know what to class it as now. They sell for less than 10k making them accessable to more people... so I'd agree with Gareth and say Sport Coupe.
