Air Flow Meter 3s-ge

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I am thinking of purchasing a K&N 57i induction kit for my Rev 1 Mk2 MR2, but I keep seeing 'without AFM only' everywhere!!!

How can I tell if I have an air flow meter on my car? Or can someone tell me?

Cheers

I know the REV 1 & 2 Tubbys have an AFM, and all REV's above that have MAP sensors.

But im not sure about the N/A's, I guess the REV1 N/A has a AFM though ?

didn't think NA's had an AFM .. thought it was filter -> TB ..

Take a pic of your engine bay and we'll be able to see it if there *is* an AFM ..

there must be some kind of meter, measuring air flow, how would the ECU know how much fuel to put in ?

i thought all fuel injected cars needed one of some description

Toyota 3S-GE's use inlet air temperature and absolute manifold pressure to determine air/fuel mix.
