There are new fog lamps and headlight units out to try and get rid of the melting and steaming up. To be honest my headlight steam up a little but so does my dads avensis my old corolla and my 2 rovers before that. Just to comment on the dealer claiming for parts and not fitting them my rover dealer was doing that. You could have the most reliable make of car in the world but its only has good has the dealership that looks after it.

Go to your dealer and get the headlights changed because there is a problem with the old ones that were all made of plastic, the new ones are metal on the inner side.

Changed both already in my avensis

I have outlined how the dealer helped on the other thread dealing with this problem. A new type headlight overcomes the condensation problem.

Under warranty I have now had both fog lights and headlights changed. If there is any sign of condensation get the lights changed or eventually you will not have headlights to see at night.

Can someone please help me with regarda to melted bulb holder and condensation in both units

My car is just out of warrenty and toyota want £500 to supply and fit 2 new units.

I think that their should have been a recall on all early 03 models and work done for free, as it is mine is an MOT failure and toyota will not seel me lamps at a slightly reduced rate unless they do the fitting, which is very expensive.
