Sticking Accelerator

Hi

My accellerator keeps sticking. When I sart up hot or cold it is fine. But when I have to stop (trafic lights etc) and then start to accellerate it sticks and I have to thump the pedel quite hard once the enging has realy warmed up its fine.

I have had the car in the garage twice to lubricate the cable and for about a day its OK, but after that it's back to sticking again.

The mechanic tells me that the cable is not frayed.

Any other suggestions please.
