Flux Insurance - Corolla T Sport

hi all,

my insurance is up for renewal and im changing to adrian flux... they have sent me a mountain of paperwork to fill in ,listing mods etc...

anyways, im stuck on one question, pls help.. in the section about brakes it asks if a servo is fitted it or not??? i would be gratefull of your help pls... the brakes are the standard t sport set up.

anyone???? what is a servo? ive heard of master cylinder and slave cylinder... but not servo. i pressume it must be assisted braking.... is that ABS?? pls help.

Most modern braking systems are 'servo-assisted'.

ABS is different, as this relates to the anti-lock system itself.

Are you sure the form does not ask just for the parts that are modified? if the brakes are standard is there not a tick box for that? I know the form you are talking about as I had to fill one in

the question is before where it asks for modifycations to brake parts... no box to tick for standard brakes. it asks discs or drums front and back, then is a servo unit fitted? simple question if you know the answer, but i dont, so rocket science to me...

I know the older style cable operated brakes didnt have servo's, however those that are hydraulically assisted generally do. Couldn't be 100% if your car does or not (i think it does). Have you looked in the manual? If not, your local toyota dealer should be able to tell you yes or no.

the guys at toyota inform me that there is a servo unit...

suprised u got a good quote with them on the t-sport , i was with them for my cabby and other half with his turbo but then when we got the t-sport they wanted loads extra ! as in silly lots !

i got fully comp with protected no claims bonus for £450, that includes all my mods too. i was with More Than before but they will only cover mods that do not increase performance or acceleration.. so my K&N was a grey area better to be safe than sorry... ;)

the odd thing though, same price as renewal, and insured using Royal Sun Alliance, the same as More Than used????????? oh well, its there loss... bert

£450 - I can only dream of insurance that low!

Mine is just under a grand for 10 months with elephant - they were the cheapest by a mile too...
