It is a common misconception that the MR2 was Lotus designed, but assembled and distrubuted by Toyota. Actually the Lotus M90 (a.k.a. the X100) project was scrapped and Lotus was later bought out by GM. The MR2 was eventually designed by Toyota with Lotus engineer Roger Becker involved on its suspention and handling

So why did they put the 2ZZ in the Lotus and the cra.ppy 1ZZ in the Roadster? :huh:

and how come with a bit of ECU jiggey-pokery (and that's funny, the brits better with electronics than the Japenese) they get more power too? (Recon they have been on E-bay for a £15 resistor?)

Lotus and Toyota have always had links, but the mk1 was not a scrapped Lotus project.
