Insurance On An Import

My insurance company stuck all these things on my policy just because i bought an imported car , they said it had to have a certain immobiliser on it , has anyone else come across this when changing their insurance and what is the difference between an imported one and a uk one , mine's right hand drive etc , the only difference is that the indicator arm and the windscreen wiper control are opposite to a uk car .

i think youre insurance company is stucking something up your back end! i insured a 1990 previa import obviously for that year, with Direct Line no probs.

mine got very expensive when i got my lucida so changed to aa and got full comp and pnb for £250.also had to have a thatcham cat 2 immobiliser.
