Weird Phone Calls

Keep getting this weird phone call from the number 07011106565

Some beeps then a yank lady starts to speak so I hang up.

Anyone heard of this? It must be a scam but not sure what it does

Is this on your land-line or mobile?

Somebody once sent a text to my house land-line and I thought it was a con or something, but they kept calling me back so I listened to the whole message and worked out it was a text message from my mate.

Was pretty scary as it was some robot woman reading it out ..... hmm the practical jokes!

Yeah I get them too.... normally a robot woman saying

Hel lo con grat u lations you have won a holi day for two peo ple to Flo ri da to claim your prize please dial (premium rate phone number).

By that point I hang up....

If i were you mate i'd see what they want, providing you dont press any numbers (ie for extensions) it wont cost you a penny...

That way, you can see what they actually want and ask them to stop-

If not, they'll just keep trying

Then again, I've had similar before now and they do go away. A lot of these calls are from abroad which makes it more difficult to get them stopped. Did you know, however, that the telephone preference service (TPS) also allows you to register mobile phone numbers?
