Brake Problems

Hi, I own a Avensis 1.8 GS (1998). Recently I have been having problems when brakeing at high speeds. I get vibrations up the steering wheel and at times you can even feel them through the floor. If anyone else has experienced this problem or knows the cause I would realy appreciate it if they could let me know. :)

The problem your experiencing is your discs have 'warped' and need either replacing or skimmed (replacing is better than skimming)..... it a common fault i'm affraid....

If you use the search facility it will come up with many threads about this.

Thanks for that, iv checked other posts and there is loads on the problem, seems that the disks warp when they heat up and then straighten when they cool down. Ill have to get new pads and disks.

It's caused by the pads they use. If your disks have cooled back to a true state, in other words level, then just replace the pads. But don't use Toyota ones, use decent quality aftermarket ones.
