Been A Busy Weekend.

Well i`ve been threatening to do it all winter. And now springs just around the corner I thought today would be a good day to start. Fatso needs to slim down some more.... So out with the old.

Rear shelf and two 6x9`s ... two 7 inch Speakers behind the rear passenger trims... Space saver.. Boot carpet... jack & tools....Rear seats & associated bracketry.... All 4 inertia belts, bolts, clips etc... And finally i`ve repositioned the Battery. Thats 7ft of heavy duty cabling less. Amazingly all this lot adds up to 130 lbs give or take a pound. I was going to remove all the side trim but altogether it only weighs about 10lbs and it looked a bit too spartan.:huh:

Also took the opportunity of fitting the rear strut brace. :D

I`ve not been overly happy with the Battery where it was. The cable runs were too long and causing a delay between turning the key and the starter turning. only half a second or so but not what i wanted. Where it is now is just fine...... I think. B) Still got to sort out a Battery box and get a smaller battery. :)

That enough for this weekend. Off to the pub now. :D

Looking good now mate - what's the kerb weight down to?

It was 1283 KG When it was weighed back in October. So a bit of mental math and we have a figure around about 1225KG give or take. :D Which is a good bit less than the standard 1380KG.

And the performance thingummygig HERE says

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 250

Weight without Driver (KG) : 1225

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 207.36

0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.84

0 - 100 (Secs) : 13.26

60 - 100 (Secs) : 8.42

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.59

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 101.24

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.19

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 104.50

Assuming that the old beast can actually manage to poke out that many ponies at the crank without spitting it`s dummy out.

Standard JDM ST205 is -

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 255

Weight without Driver (KG) : 1440

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 179.93

0 - 60 (Secs) : 5.51

0 - 100 (Secs) : 15.10

60 - 100 (Secs) : 9.59

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.25

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 97.15

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.85

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 100.16

And a 2005 Impreza WRX is

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 247

Weight without Driver (KG) : 1360

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 184.53

0 - 60 (Secs) : 5.38

0 - 100 (Secs) : 14.82

60 - 100 (Secs) : 9.44

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.13

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 97.65

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.73

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 100.70

Unfortunately it`s all theory... Need a track.:thumbsup:

Dude that's not obsessive in any way,

What do you use to listen to music on then if you have whipped out the 6 x 9"s ?

Sorry my mates Scooby is doing 0-60 in 4.8 secs. He has a UK300 with the pro drive upgrade, that said I am !Removed! impressed at your figures and feel rather inadequate having only a 3s-fe

boo hoo

Dude the pics have finally loaded on my dial up connection (lol I know) do you only use this car for the track? refer to my previous comment about non obsessive behaviour

Its not obsessive........... Is it????? Oooer  You want to see Monster mats IS 200 drift car.... Thats obsessive.

I still got the front Speakers in. Only 100w jobbies but the engine makes much better music.

Unfortunately the figures are only subjective, although i don`t think they`ll be too wide of the mark. And there`s still more to do. Looking at metal HG and Water/Methanol injection next. I was thinking of shoving a ST205 lump in but the price would be a little prohibitive for the gains. Apparently forged internals, bigger injectors and different fueling will all produce good results.

The problem with where i live is it`s all windy little B roads so i`m not interested in outright speed. Anything over a 70-80 MPH is wasted anyway unless your on a track. I`m after acceleration. Already reduced wheel size back to 16" from 17`s. This has reduced the unsprung weight a little and reduced the gearing slightly as well. And if 2k were to become available (Here`s hoping  ) then i think a Quaife box/dif might be in order. Maybe....

Oh and the cars SORN`d at the moment while i wait for spring then it`ll be in regular use with hopefully a few track days thrown in for good measure.
