have a read on the merceds sites with regards to maf problems

cleaning them does not work ie the maf as a heater element which burns of the debris

I'm not bothering to go into the facts, but you should NOT clean your M.A.F. sensor.

There was a post on this late last year.

The person had his Avensis MAF cleaned by a Toyota dealer.

Cleaning with fluid should not cause any harm to the heater element, however I would be grateful for a further explanation as to the reason why this should not be done.

If diagnosing points to a problem with the MAF, should it just be replaced as it costs about £100.
