Urgent Help Required

Just before christmas i fitted a new stereo to my girlfriends car (1997 corolla), it worked fine the day i fitted it. she went on holiday, left the car parked outside in the snow/rain for 2 weeks, now that she has come back the stereo will not work at all, i.e there is no power going to the unit. Also the lights that light up the gear box on the auto box so you can see what gear you are in, have stopped working yesterday. Are these two things related or is it just a coincidence? Could it be a blown fuse or should i return the head unit. Is it easy to replace the bulb which illuminates the gear box.

Could it be a blown fuse ? are you serious ! surely thats the first thing you would have checked, coincidence ? probably not, re-do your wiring properly.

sorry i'm not much of an expert when it comes to these things. Where are the fuses located? also when you say redo the wiring properly, what do you mean, as the leads that i bought only fit into the radio and the car in one particular way.

It is urgent if you knew my girlfriend, she thinks that i have done some serious damage to her car, and i have to get it sorted asap, otherwise
