I had someone tell me that a CT12 turbo from a celica Gt 4 is a direct replacment for the standard turbo and the internals can kope with this ok up to 1.2 bar? has anyone actually done this? and would i need to uprate anything else really?? :blink:

standard internals wont hold 1.2 bar with the standard exhaust manifold on at 1 bar or just over you risk taking out piston 3, as for the turbo been a direct fit i have no idea

you'd need to uprate intercooler and ECU/FCD to run 1.2 bar. Its probably not a "direct fit" either

The Celica GT4 runs a CT26 (as to MR2 Turbos CT26b & CT20, and Mk3 supras CT26a) .. CT12's are from mk4 Supras.

ct12 was fitted to the earlier EP71 Starlet Turbo S which used the 12v 1295cc 2E-TE engine

This is a different engine to the EP82 / EP91 engines.

Acctualy, it was called the 2e-telu and it did have a ct9. ct12(a) is from the 1g and 1jz series engines.

I think people have fitted the to the 4afe corolla engine, but only with a bit of custom fabrication.
