Another trick to list :-

1) Turn the Power ON

2) Set trip meter to "ODO"

3) (you may need to Power OFF at this point)

4) Turn the Power ON

5) Hold down the ODO/Trip button for 10 seconds

6) While keeping the ODO/Trip button down, put the driver seatbelt on.

7) You will see b_on / b_off choice in the ODO meter, make your choice with the ODO/Trip button

The the seatbelt warning lights will continue to flash until driver and passenger put there seatbelt on.

And please wear your seltbelt when driving on the road.

  • 1 year later...

This does not seem to work on my March 07 XTR D4D 140. "turning off the power" = turning the key back to the accessory power position, completely off, or out of the keyhole?? Not that it matters - I tried every combination and it still refuses to play ball. I am sure the dealer can do it next time it is in for a service, but it is a little irritating in the meantime.

Tried it myself this evening and couldn't get it to work. :crybaby:

I put my laptop bag on the seat when I'm driving and it detects as a person an beeps so would love for this to work.

Can you confirm if you have done it yourself or did someone tell you about it?

I've got a 2006 XT5 which was newly delivered in June last year, I take it from above yours is later than mine so don't think its a version issue at the moment.

Anyone else got this to work?

better to place your laptop bag in the footwell area... with the first emergency brake and you can buy a new laptop...
