Avensis Facelift And Model Change Date, When?

Dear All,

I have been planning to buy a 2006 avensis, however, i wanted to know if they will be facelifted or completely changed in the near future, by 2007 or later. Also does anyone have any pictures of the proposed new models??? i have seen some while searching google, but i don't think they are true...

A Mondeo???? You must be joking no comparison. New Toyota is better in every way. My mates Mondeo is always having faults.

By the amount of mondeo's we get in at work with faults dont bother the avensis is a far better car. The avensis has a few little problems but not a vast amount like other cars.

Starting June 2006, the Avensis will be available with minor changes, a facelift like the Yaris and Corolla models have seen in the past, I think the audio-system is ready for playing MP3 and WMA files perhaps a smart-key/ smart-entery system may be added, somewhere in April details are available from Toyota, in about 1 or 2weeks the factory is clossing the order intake for the present model. We expect also small changes on the 2.0 and 2.4 VVT-i engines the 2.0 D4-D will be probaly removed from the list perhaps a downgrade from the 2.2 D4-D 150 hp will be avialable.

I havent found any foto's yet on the internet, just wait and see.

At the moment I use the tape deck thing...dont like it much but its the only way I can listen to my mp3 player....

a bit smoother face, clear front lights, not many changes that i was able to see... looks good.

2.0 d4d might get an improvement but it is not going anywhere.

spwolfx did you see if the side repeaters are built into the side mirrows now.and also is the lights tear drop effect like the yaris and corolla?

lights are not teardrop for sure, I dont remember repeaters in side mirrors. Main change was that front lights are completly clear and look a bit "meaner", and I suspect there was some slight change in front bumper as well to make the whole look smoother.

Not an huge difference, just small but good improvement...

Did not see the back though...
