Which model have you got mate - the t-sport alarm is a standard fit one - can be a little sensitive until its setup the way you like it.

The other hassle Ive had with mine is that I effected its earth by mistake - IT DOES NOT LIKE THAT! The earth lead for the alarm is to one side of the Battery on the suspension tower. Its a fairly heavy black lead to a bolt. Simple to check - just stick a 10mm socket it on it and give it an experimental tighten - you never know.

My mother has a 1.3 petrol automatic with the Toyota alarm fitted. The old girl doesn't drive that much, perhaps once or twice a week and every time she comes to use the car the (new and checked) Battery is flat and we have games with the alarm.

Is this alarm known for flattening the Battery over such a short period?

Nope - not at all - it just doesnt like being messed with. I cant remember what the one on the T-Sport is called - something like TNS1000 or similar?

Hi Clarky thanks for info i've got a 03 T Sport i just fitted an strut brace front and rear a month ago and had to unscrew the front under bonnet alarm pressure sensor {the one that sets off the alarm when you lift the boonet up} but i screw it back again when the strut was in place.I think i may have to bring it back to them halfwits at Benfeild Toyota. :(

Not that one, but the Benfield in Leeds is total and utter sh*te! Full of liers, thieves and scallywags!

I wondered about that switch myself - I ended up redrilling the bracket and repositioning it such that it sits inside the gap between the brace and car chassis - works fine now.

The other thing you could do of course is to just remove it entirely - join the two cables together - Im pretty sure thats what Jaxx did way back.
