Hi Folks!

After about 8 months communicating with Toyota about the excessive oil usage of my 2001 Avensis, they finally replaced the short block under warranty! The engineer did an excellent job and the engine is running perfectly  They also replaced all valve seals and checked the valve clearance.

Just wanted to share. I'm a happy man now! :D

Hi there,

***** the problem appeared at 150k kms and Toyota fixed it? (from your previous mail in November)

Well I think that's pretty good service.

How many years is the warranty over there?

How much oil was the engine using?

DTO

Well, the short block was replaced last week at 163k kms. It was using over 1 litre per 1000 kms. An awful amount! I started argueing about this beforn 150k kms, so that's the reason for the repair under warranty.

I'm very happy with Toyota  Yes, thumbs up!!!
