Yaris Wheel Nuts

Hi folks!

Not sure whether this should be under "Wheels & Tyres" or in here, but I decided that this would get the best audience...

Some of you may remember that a few months ago I bought a rather smart set of wheels that I was waiting until after the winter to fit. Well, the weather's not so bad at the moment and I'm starting to think about the sunny Scottish summer and what the motor should look like.

Anyhow, I digress... To fit the wheels to the car I need a set of nuts that will happily mate alloy wheel to Yaris hub. The (2 sets of) nuts that I have don't fit down the holes in the OZs so I need another set. The trouble is that I don't actually know what it is I go in and ask for and I've always found that saying "I need 3/4 inch spigot thingy with an 19mm o/d" always gets you a better price than "do you know on a Yaris? That bit just left of the airbox... Yeah, that might be it."

The other issue regards centering the wheel to the hub. I know you get little spacery things to make the hole in the middle of the wheel 100% concentric to the boss that sticks out in the middle of the hub, but I don't know the diameter of the boss on the Yaris so I don't know if I'm going to need them or not. Is there a standard diameter? I've only ever seen there things mentioned in passing.

Cheers for the help, I hope you can follow my ramblings :)

You have to get them direct from OZ and they will only sell you the whole set of nuts and spiggot rings, cost about 40 something quid!

Just phone any alloy wheel place and ask if the can order you a set of OZ spiggot rings and nuts to fit a toyota yaris and quote the model of the wheel!

CB

How much did you pay for them?

I paid £400 for my superturismo gts with £200s worth of brand new tires on, seconhand of course!

Yeah, I paid £151 for them (e-bay ) but I knew the tyres were the wrong size. Set of Toyos (or Vredesteins - someone has to at least try something different) and they'll be right as rain

I don't know the model name, but I can get the serial numbers off them...

Alan.. i wish i lived closer to you.. i have spare nuts here that fitted the MKV alloy wheels i had on mine... they were also identicle to the nuts that were originally on the car when i bought it.. also, they were identicle to the nuts that were on the corrolla that the wheels went on.

The nuts i have are closed cap (when in place you can't see the threaded bit on the hub) and had a countersunk end (like a built in washer) the fitted snugly into the wheel.

The bore hole of the Yaris wheel is 54mm  but like was said.. just ask for OZ wheel to yaris for the centralising rings.

EDIT: the wife says i gave away a set of nuts.. but i don't think i did... i had 2 identicle sets.. if i still have 2 sets then i got a set spare (need a set for the steelies)

Alan - Kevin at Envy keeps a selection of suitable nuts and spiggot rings in stock - give him a bell.

Given the fact that you've got nice light wheels you might want to get a set of lightweight titanium nuts to go with them. He keeps them in stock for the yaris ... I've spent entirely too much money and time up there ... ho hum
