My Prius is in need if new rubber,partly accelerated by a nail through the left rear! :ffs:

I rang around a few well known tyre retailers and got some wildly different figures.

Here are a few examples for 4 195/55 R16`s V rated fitted,valves and balanced.

AA autocentre £380 (avon). :help:

National £360 (continental).

ATS £340 (michellin), £268 (BF Goodrich).

Kwikfit £340 (contineltal), but pricematched the ATS price (£268) still on the conti`s. :D

I should point out that NONE of them had the tyres in stock as apparently they are an `odd size`.

ATS said they did but when I arrived they were going to fit 195/65`s as they had `miss` heard me on the phone (even though I had clearly stated 55 ratio). :wacko:

I have ordered them from Kwikfit and from previous experience with my local branch (Barrow-in-Furness), expect good service.

I short my friends,shop around! :thumbsup:

Absolutely...it pays to shop around for whatever you are after....tyres,servicing, insurance etc. :thumbsup:

They do seem to be an odd size. I've had the same experience.

I replaced my two fronts a few months ago with original spec Bridgestones. £78

each inc fitting and VAT. Dealer quoted £105.

I always buy my tyres at ETS (Eden Tyre Services) in Derby. Every

time I need a tyre replacing I ring round, check the internet etc

and have never yet bettered their prices. Highy recommended.

Bit of a long way from Barrow, though I do pop up there very occasionally as my brother lives in Barrow and my niece on Walney Island.....strange place :)
