A friend of mine and I are having a nice little disagreement about which engine sounds better. I've decided to ask you guys because you're all probably a lot less biased than my friends when it comes to old muscle cars ;)

The contenders are:

'67 Chevrolet 427/425 V8

and

'65 Ford 427 'side-oiler' V8

I maintain that the Chevy sounds more appealing. He likes the Ford lump.

If you're the sort who likes to listen to lumpy-bumpy old V8 engines, there are lots of high-quality recordings here and loads and loads here as well.

Man, that's tricky...

The Ford sounds loud and smooth under revs whereas the Chevrolet sounds a bit harsh, but the Ford sounds a bit "poorly" under idle...

I'd have to go for the Chevrolet too, thinking about it. It's close though.

What browser are you using? The pages don't load properly in Opera ;)

Its the Ford for me I'm afraid, sounds like its running some pretty lumpy cams which don't do much for the idle though :)

<sighs>

I did the same at first in Firefox. Yes, works fine in IE.

It's the Chevy for me.

I like the links too. Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird. Yes! Always fancied one of them so I could pretend to be Richard Petty. :P :cowboy::driving:
