Water Injection Fitting Today.

After umming and ahhing for weeks i finally took the plunge and ordered a Water Injection kit from the nice people at www.aquastealth.com in Michigan through their eBay ad Here which was 60 dollars cheaper than their online store was selling them for. I ordered it Friday afternoon and it turned up here this morning at 8. O`clock. How`s that for service. And the best bit is it cost less than half the price of the Aquamist system. OK it might not be as good as the aquamist system and it`s pretty basic but for less than 140 quid delivered i ain`t complaining. :D

This is what you get for your money.

good luck .. and just don't add too much water at idle - you'll get hydrolock (broken engine).

On mine there is a "prime" button to blead the system of air. When I prime it I have the engine running and keep blipping the throttle to get rid of any pools of water.

mmm... looks interesting. How do you fit these kits? how do they work? is it a DIY job?

sorry for all the Q's :P

you tap the wiring into the ECU, drill a hole in the charge pipe and set up the water tank somewhere safe.

when you hit a certain PSI the pump sprays water into an IC pipe.

yeah, it's DIY.

Best to use the premixed windscreen wash from Halfords too (contains methanol and also tints your exhaust flames the colour of the wash fluid)

Damn cold out there. Just tested the pump and solenoid they`re ok. Just working out the best place to mount the pump. In car i think would be best. Engine bays way too cluttered as it is.

and just don't add too much water at idle - you'll get hydrolock (broken engine).

There`s a boost pressure operated solenoid (Adjustable) thats supposed to prevent this. Won`t let any water through till it hits a preset pressure. This also negates the need to pimp off the ECU :D

Thanks for the windsbreen wash tip. Hmmm blue flames.....:thumbsup:

As I said, mine is pressure activated, but there was a "prime" button to draw the water through and test it was working.

I've used blue, green and pink .. the blue was okay, the pink gave a real dark red to it, and the green was just weird ..

mine would illuminate the entire motorway at night for about 3 seconds solid.

I've been told they were about 3-4 foot in length with balls of flame rolling down the road after the car ..

I would go with in car as well personally! !Removed! it to the work bench will give you no end of trouble with the pipework :D

How do you make it do this?

Have a Gen2 block, have a vent to atmos BOV, have a AVCR so the injectors go to 100% duty, have a de-cat and a VERY short free flowing exhaust, and have a Y pipe that gets insanely hot in the exhaust.

Boost for 10 or so seconds, injectors go to 100% duty, ease off, less air being input (as BOV is not recircing, AFM and ECU thinks it is) car runs VERY rich, unburnt fuel hits the Y pipe, ignights and then flames out both pipes.

The faster you go and the higher the revs, the longer the flames.

At 3k rpm in first, it would "pop" little inch flames .. on the A road into Germany I managed to light up the entire road for a good 4 seconds with flames I could see over my spoiler (and I've a big spoiler, and they cam out not much over horizontal)

And this shows the pressure switch.

Just got a bit more wiring to do. Source a water tank of sorts and then get the spray nozzle sorted. :D

I think if you remove your rear seats you should always put a board down and carpet it. Just looks smart and tidy. My mate has done it on his starlet turbo.

Yes and no. Yes it would tidy it up. - No i don`t want to add weight. I have actually thought about getting a carbon/kevlar cover made up to go over the whole lot. My nephew works somewhere he can do that. But it`s not high on the priority list.

Doesnt have to be a really heavy board. To be honest i dont think that small amount of weight would make a difference :)

My mate with the starlet is a weight freak! he wants to take out his air con to reduce weight. He even took out his 2 floor mats when running the drag strip!

Been quoted on another forum .. 5kg is equivalent to 1bhp ..

So when I dump my stock exhaust for a light weight one .. I'll loose about 15/20kg. I'd never go as far as removing floor mats etc .. unless it was a proper track car. My daily drive needs AC, ICE and carpet ..

So like the man says ... Every little helps. And yes i have taken the mats out. But not the carpet................ yet :D I`d still like it to be half civilised.

Just as a little afterthought. Anyone know how insurance companies feel about stripped interiors?? Suppose i`ll find out soon enough.
