Getting Spare Keys?

Where can I get a copy of my master key?

I bought a blank from fleabay and had it cut, but it bent in the lock as it was made of such crappy metal.

How much would Toyota charge for a copy (I do have the key number)?

best bet is to call and ask .

Mine was £70, including alarm/immobiliser coding, and cutting.... Vastly over priced, but no-one else was going to be able to do it for me!!

Does the Gen5 need anything coding? If not, then probably about £15 - 20 max from Mr T. But call them, eh? Be the easiest way...

No fancy electronics needed. Just a piece of metal with a key cut out of it, lol

I'll have to ask Mr T what their price will be

If you can be bothered, you can try asking how much a blank key is, and ask your local key cutter (to be found in most local indoor markets!) how much to cut...

Might not be worth your time for the money saving though...

Think you can get blank keys from eBay every now and again as well, but don't quote me and I can't vouch for the quality.

Gen 5 keys are basic. The originals were made from the finest metals obtained from the finest ores on the planet. They were then taken deep inside Mt Fuji and forged, worked and tempered in the fires deep within. Only a master craftsman was allowed to make these keys and then only after many years of under studying that master key maker Kei-un loc. :D

I phoned Mr T, but they say they can't get a key, blank or cut, because its an import

They can get me a thermostat though, so I have ordered that (I do need one)

So, still stuck with the key business.

I get can keys from fleabay that originate in Taiwan, and the 'look' solid enough, but don't know if they will be the right one anyway :crybaby:
