Hi guys and gals in a bit of a quandry as im thinking of selling my rav4 as it is to thirsty for the isle of wights twisty roads, the choices are, a skoda fabia vrs turbo diesel or a corrolla 1.4 d4d t3 please can some one help me as im confused ....

You're asking if you should buy a Skoda Fabia or a Corolla on a Toyota forum....

The result is going to be biased mate!

Of course I'll say Corolla, we have a Corolla 2.0 T-Spirit D-4D and its super!

ok i give you that , but i dont know what a 14d4d drives like as toyota will have to bring one over to the island especially for me so i guess i need some info on how they go , test drove the vrs today and it is a pocket rocket

Well the 2.0 is rather peppy - I'd always recommend it over the smaller diesel engine myself, which we were told was a bit lacklustre apparently!

The Skodas` a fine car but it is somewhat nondescript. The corolla has the looks. IMO i`d say Corolla but i`d be inclined to opt for a petrol version.

er..........couldn't you just get on a ferry ( or even swim ) over to the mainland and arrange a test drive over here? That way you could arm yourself with all the knowledge/advice/bias you're getting here AND back it up by actually trying the car out.

Personally I'd go for the VRS, but the only way to really decide is to try them both for yourself, then if you're still unsure you could start a poll ! :P

If it was about looks I'd go for the skoda, It's a much better looking car imo
