I do not have a 1.4 d4d, but test-drove one at the weekend. Looking to purchase it for my father. Anyhow, I was impressed with the performance, it's no rocket but it will get you around. There were 4 adults in the car, it had no problem getting to 70mph and had more if pushed. I drive an Avensis 2.0 d4d. When you hit 3000 rpm I was expecting the turbo to in kick and give it that extra push but it did not happen.

IMO, for what my fathers wants, its economical, not a rocket but will cruise on the motorway and more importantly, reliable.

Based on that I have just ordered him a 1.4 VVTi 5dr Corolla Colour Collection 3. Got an excellent price through "Drive the Deal".

Hi I have had 1.4d4d MMT Sol as sold in Portugal but similar the T3 for a year now . Have not had any problems at all. The finnish and ride are excellent and the motor is very quiet and revs like a petrol engine.

The car romps up hills in top and the performance is more like a much bigger engine whilst the economy is excellent averaging just on 50mpg for the year.

Just feel the way the doors close and then try other cars of this class. The aircon. is very good and the feel inside is one of quality.

Save the wear on your knee joint and try the MMT box
