No offence mate, but if I were you, I would find a friendly local bodyshop. They will probably do it for about £100 cash, and they have the know how and facilities to get it right first time.

I put a front lip on my Honda (okay, it was Alan really).

And that involved primer, then the finest wet and dry .. primer .. W&D .. primer W&D .. etc etc.

We got about 5 coats of primer, and then 5 coats of colour (with W&D inbetween each).

and it's no where near done, that was just to get it out the garage. I'm scheduling another few weekends work to get it mint (going to cost me a fortune in beer and take aways to keep Alan working :D)

I had one done a couple of years ago for £30 cash on a Sunday at my local body shop.

I couldn't have got the paint and materials for that price never mind the labour.

As mike says - if you want a decent job get it done by the pros!

As for grit get them all. Start with the roughest and work your way down until you get to one which is basically like smooth paper. Get wet and dry rather than sand paper and make sure you use it wet and dry. Get Plastic Primer - cheap stuff can be got from Halfords and seems to work OK.

Spray primer on then you will notice all the imperfections - so then go through the process of fill and sand again, then primer again. Repeat until you are happy then spray with the final colour. Give it as many coats as possible then laquer if required.

so has my ST - I think they were standard on all celicas after 96 due to the fact that toyota had problems with the bonnets flexing when you went over 100mph
