Central Locking

Hi all , got a bit of a intermittent fault with the central locking on a 2001 plate 1.8 avensis.

ive read a few of the posts relating to the same sort of problem ,but asking for fresh ideas ,and past experiances. seems like on the cold mornings or damp days in particular , the key fob will not unlock or lock the doors ,and then have to use the key to get in ,

when it does work ,there is a good click sound to all the doors, so dont think there is a problem there, also the door switch on the drivers interior door panel operates well, unlock and lock , the interior light has never come on when operating the remote locking, but comes on ok when the door is opened, tried both key fobs ,when the problem is accuring ,both have the same results , if it is a damp problem getting in some where,or a damp relay ? dunno where to look ,so any help would be great .
