SOUNDS JUST LIKE A BEARING THO, FASTER YOU GO THE LOADER IT GETS. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS TROUBLE, WANT TO GET IT SORTED FOR SPRING.

APRECIATE ANY HELP.

Hi there, Ive got the same trouble on my GT 2.0 1994. Gets louder as you said when you go faster. Thought it was a bearing at first. Got it booked in on Thursday. Will post diagnosis at later date.

I'd say lower ball joint  Had the same problem on my Vauxhall Astra (wow that was a long time ago now).

Get the car jacked up, take off the wheel and give everything a good shake.

Should be no play anywhere but im pretty sure you will find some play on the lower suspension arm

JUST WONDERING, DID YOU FIND OUT WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR CAR?

Hi Everyone

Yep front offside bearing very worn. To make life complicated and expensive the centre pin has seized. The saga continues........should get it back tomorrow hopefully. OUCH!!

Finally got the car sorted at wkend. After all that it was the off side wheel bearing even though it didnt sound like it. got it changed and shes quiet as a mouse now. (Glad it wasn't d/shaft or diff.)

So sunday i dragged her wide ***** out of winter hibernation and took her for a blast. NICE!! (good to have it back)

Next thing i want now is a d/valve. Does anyone know which are the best for a gt4 st185, wheres the best place to get them from and how much would they be.

thanks

Glad you got it sorted OK and it wasn`t too major.

Dump valves really are down to personal choice. There are a lot of different looking and sounding ones around. I`ve got a Blitz duo sound fitted and it seems to do the job quite nicely. Bit pricey though unless you can get hold of a 2nd hand one. Forge seem to be pretty good and a couple of TOC members, Ken & GT4 BOOSTER have got SARD R2D2`s at very reasonable prices. PM GT4 BOOSTER for the gen on that one. I guess it would work just as well on a 185. You might also consider HKS, APEXI or BAILEY DV`s. Prices vary from £40 - £200+

Yeah i suppose it is down to personel choice.

Just heard off a few people that Bailey aren't very good on GT4s, or is it a certain type!

Then theres d/valves and BOV's whats the difference with them. I'll av too have a look round, want a nice sounding one.

Thanks Dakari

Not sure what the score is with Baileys. I`ve also heard they`re not that hot. DV`s BOV`s all the same thing. Just dumps the excess boost.

their not a good choice because they leak air when the cars in vacum and causes running problems. that and the fact they sound like kak
