firstly dont waste your money No 6x9 will ever fit in the rear of the e12 corolla's.

if you want to save yourself hassle get yourself 6 inch round speaker or smaller size, 6"1/2 dont fit unless you go and make some brackets.

:D

really??? as the spec sheet that i saw on the web somwhere suggested that it was indeed 6x9's that were in the back.

regardless of that... i still need to know how to get to them. as the grill doesn't appear to click out of the side panel.

of course the grill dont click out the grill IS the rear panel :D :D you need to take all seats out then pop the whole panel off to get to the Speakers.

it's the way that you tried to help that i am commenting on... you answered the question, but answered it in a way to may me sound like an idiot.

you could have answered by simply supplying the details of how to get to the Speakers.

you chose, however, to suggest that i was an idiot to think that the grills clicked off (which they do in certain cars) and then used 2 laughing icons to suggest you were laughing at the thought of it.

i haven't answered someones query by making them feel an idiot for asking it in the first place, which is what he did

All I can say to this is - in chat or message boards, always give people the benefit of the doubt when interpretting the intonation in posts :D Otherwise you get into fights over nothing :)

Back to the real topic - and just out of curiosity (since I don't have one) - are we saying that the Speakers are in the area just behind the rear seats at headrest level (in the front corners of the boot space), as per the E11? I'm sure someone told me they were in the door cards in the newer cars, but I probably just wasnt listening properly ;)

they are in the rear side panel... however it was reported to me elsewhere that it was 6x9's that were in them already.

dear chenks

i dont want to upset you again but i would very much like to see 6x9 speaker's fitted onto rear side panel of the e12 corolla's i would like to learn how to do it.

was just quoting what i was told when someone looked up the corolla on the speaker list they had (company that does car audio upgrades)

hence, this was why i was asking how to get at the Speakers so i could measure them myself

also.. what is the size of the fronts ?

is it 7" or 6.5" or some other size.

dear chenks

do you think there is a chance what this (company that does car audio upgrades) told you could be wrong.

it is possible... however i have no reason to believe you over them, just as i have no reason to believe them over you.

i guess i won't know for sure unless i measure them myself, hence why my original and first question was asking how to get into them.

I also have some 6x9's ready to fit into my 02 CTS, fingers crossed they'll fit I guess  , otherwise won't the parcel shelf suffice? with the wiring to the old speaker re-routed?
