Hi there peeps!

I'm going to look at a 97-98 reg Camry 2.2i tomorrow. Had a quick look today, gonna take it for a spin though.

If you get time to answer i'd appreciate it, just a few questions really.

For those that have one, are there any things I should be looking for?

Whats the 5S-FE engine like? I presume it's a bulletproof as my 3S-FE.

Finally, what is that black box with toyota written on it that sticks out a little under the stereo? I thought it may be sommat you can open, like a cubby hole. But not so sure now.

Thanks all in advance. It's a nice silvery blue colour.

My Rav 4 may soon be up for sale if I get one!

that cover is just there to fill the spare gap. if in future you wanted to fit a double din stereo system it will fit straight in after taking the stereo and the cover off. but sayiung that mine had a cd player fitted there. dependent on your original stereo you can usually get a cd to fit straight onto your original usually get them on eBay

Thanks for that.

Anyone else got any advice? I didn't buy that one in the end, as it was too tatty. However, they drive lovely with silky gear changes. I was really impressed, it was certainly as nice to drive as my previous Lexus GS300.

Thing is, I really like the newer camry. Was it you James Holden that bought one, what do you think of yours?

For me though, whatever model I end up buying it will be either a 2.2 or 2.4 and must be Auto.
