Gen 6 Front Brakes

I have an import ST202 and have had the front disks and pads changed. The local garage ordered the pads from their normal supplier (EBC) only to find they would not fit. On checking the old pads against the full sized drawings in the catalogue it was found the pads were MR2. Is it possible MR2 caliphers were fitted at at some stage?

Thanks........ Good site. It lists 2 sizes of disc 275 x28 and 255 x 25 for

FWD ST202. So measure discs befor ordering the pads. Only one size for the rears.

I have just fitted new disks from Brakes International and would reccomend them, great do deal with.

On measuring your disk be sure to measure the actual thickness of the Hub (top hat) of the disk. I had to widen the centre hole on all four disks and shim the front brake calliper cradle's to account for the 3mm difference in the thickness of the brake disk centre hub. I matched my disks up with the correct diameter and thinkness, just didn't think to match up the hub thickness?

How much longer do the Green Stuff pads usually last over the standard ones?

I just can't justify the £74 price which is over double the standard ones! (A bit skint after buying a new Kitchen, Carpets and New Car so far and it's not even February)

Just had a set of Mintex performance pads put on mine with new drums, I have a price of abut £30 ex VAT, on the invoice from the guy who fitted them. Don't know who he brought through but apparently they are a good reputable make and wont break the bank.

MINTEX are good.. Usually from around 70 to 100+ quid for fast road and track applications.. If you know someone in the trade you should be able to get them for about 50ish Wear will depend on application. Obviously if you have soft pads and are a bit harsh with them they aint gonna last long. The last set i had on my old M5 lasted 5K :crybaby: But that did include a couple of track days.

Standard road applications are around 30-40 quid they perform & last just as well as OE jobbies.
