Which Is My Sat Nav Model.

Hi. Newb Here.

I own a Toyota Avensis 03 t Spirit. I was wondering what Sat Nav model is in it. It is not colour and has a small screen, although where is the cd stored for the maps. As the car is being delivered and was used, I was testing it out and It showed Lots of different countries such as UK, switzer land although I had no clue where the cd for it would be.

sounds like you have the tns300 dvd version if it has europeon maps your cd is probably in the navigation box if the previous owner has not taken it out. if he has you can usually get them on ebay:thumbsup:

Are yu sure its TNS 300. It has no DVD. black and white screen. I just read some where else the cd version is TNS 200. Where is the cd drive for that placed.

if its the latest shape avensis which i think is what yours is its definatley a tns 300 the navigation box is usually in the boot and i have seen it under the front passenger seat in my corolla, so try your boot or under the seat hope this helps

The TNS200 CD based Sat. Nav. system is a "step-by-step" system and was fitted to the first of the new shape Avensis on the T3-S, T4 and Spirit models.

The database disk on the CD models is, as far as I know, limited to a single country, e.g United Kingdom. To get other countries, you have to purchase additional discs. (around £120 from Toyota G.B). I think software updates for the CD Sat. Nav system are still available from Toyota.

The CD Drive is fitted beneath the front passengers seat.

The later models were fitted with a full screen DVD based system. Because of the greater storage capacitiy of DVD's, it is possible to have many countries on one DVD disk.

I finally got my car. It has a black and white screen but like tns 200 it isnt a cd rom instead it has a DVD Sat Nav system with a black and white screen. It has multiple countries and spoken directions. It works perfectly, reoutes by it self runs fast and problem free.
