Deactivating The Alarm With The Key

Is there anyway to deactivate the stock alarm (TVSS) by using the key??

The reason I ask is that last night I forgot my keys when we left the in-laws (we were in the wifes car with her keys) Just as we got home I remembered I had left my keys. I thought oh well I've got a spare set of work keys and my wife has got spare keys for the celica - but then I remembered her key fob had stopped working :ffs: Seeing as it was late I didn't fancy setting the alarm off, so I drove a 20 mile round trip to go and fetch my keys.

Was there anyway I could have done it - Just incase it happens again??

My old car could do it my turning the key in a certain combination, ie right for two seconds then left

I had the same problem outside my work at the end of the day once. Sorry I don't actually have an answer, I had to have somone drive me home to fetch the spare key fob. Very embarressing, I'd just got the car at that time. My Boss pointed and laughed. I took comfort in the fact she owned a peugot 307.
