E11 Idle Air Control Valve Removal

Has anyone removed the IAC from an E11 Corolla? It seems like just two torx screws but I tried removing them today and the screws seem to be rounding a bit. Don't know why Toyota use soft metal screws for an application in this area that is going to be exposed to hardship. Anyway, has anyone else any experience of this, i don't want to drill them out since they go into the throttle body. Cheers

It's not difficult to remove the throttle body and it makes getting the idle control far easier. Only a case of taking off the air hose and three bolts/nuts. Once it's off you can get the bolts out easier

Oh watch out whilst taking the water hoses off though otherwise you'll be having to refill the coolant :)
