I'm looking for new insurance for gen7 celica. I was involved in a crash last october and it was my fault so I've lost my no claims. The cheapest quote i've had is 720 from bell direct, does anybody have any good suggestions for a cheaper quote.

I got curious about this years insurance costs on Sunday. Cheapest I found was swiftcover.com - £322 for a year! :o  :D

They deal with it ALL on-line, so I can imagine it would be a bit of a nightmare if you ever had to claim from them, but thats £200 cheaper than anyone else! Thats me being 26, 7yrs no claims (although the max they allowed was 5yrs), no convictions, or anything else of a naughty nature!

That quote came from www.confused.com - worth using to get a base line for when you start calling people up and covers a lot of the bigger players in insurance straight away.

I just renewed mine, with 0 no claims as I had to make a claim for some w*** who broke into and trashed the inside of me car. And Bell were the cheapest for me. So if your in your early 20's I think they'll probably be the best you'll get.

I will be 27 on the 16th of Feb. I have already been on confused and moneysupermarket.com, the cheapest on confused was about a grand and the quote from Bell was through money market. My premium before the crash was 560 so the 720 isn't too bad considering.

What I would say as a word of warning, is that Admiral are who I am with at the moment did everything they could not to pay out, im not going into the full list, but suffice to say I was extremely disappointed in them.

I will try Adrain Flux and see how i get on, cheers

I always go with Elephant. Been very good to me, and given me 2 years ncb for free for some reason :lol:

I reckon £720 is good considering loosing your NCB.

I looked at Swiftcover as they were quoting loads less than everyone else, but I needed a lot of bolt-ons, so it was cheaper to go with Norwich Union in the end as everything was already lobbed in.

I was with more than before and have been 'more than' happy with their service.....

Im 21 mate got a T sport, paying 1500. Would have been alot less because i had a company car with 3 1/2 years NCB, but you have to be 25 to transfer that to your personal policy!

Gutted tbh

Mines just over a thousand £1084 i think  sounds bad but i stuffed a prelude about a year ago and a :P proton about 2 years ago.....stupid i know  Its a 94 Gt .

I had the prelude insured with direct line for £520'ish which was tremendous at the time (i was 21)- 23 now , Norwich union quoted me happy for the celica ..... kinda.....they offered me fully comp for £4000 odd quid  so after trying hundreds off companys direct line were best !

Norwich union don't really quote anyone happy! Im sure they make up a high price if they don't want to insure you.

I just a reply from adrian flux, £1300, i'm starting to wonder if the 720 from Bell was a mistake, at the moment it is the cheapest by £300.

Just another quick question, when I crashed I was charged with careless driving, nothing has came through yet ie ive not been found guilty, do I have to tell insurance companies this?

Might be best to explain that to the insurance companys , just in case ! god forbid you crash it and then they dont pay out cause you didnt tell em  They'll use any excuse to avoid paying out
