Been Busy

Hi all,

it's good to be back, glad to see all the old faces (some are really old, you know who you are!!D ) are still around and some new ones too.

Been busy with my car, thought I'd put some pics up.

Bought some refurbed gen7 alloys and bought some nuts with the T logos on them. I think they look really nice, much much better than the stock 15s.

Also turned my dials and my clock blue, it's about time! Looks good with the aluminium gauge bezel. Oh and the light around the ignition is also blue! Took some pics today but turned out really bad so will do it when it's actually dark!

Think the blue looks loads better, especially with my interior:

Gave her a full service and bought a TRD panel filter, well worth the money.

It hasn't all been good though, Had to have the rear quarter panel beaten out and resprayed, you wouldn't know it was there, and also the front wing resprayed due to stone chips and also the door (all of this on the same side!). On my door there suddenly appeared a series of scrapes about 10 inches long all running parallel with eachother down the door, I was well gutted. It was obviously deliberate, there's no-one that I know who would want to do it so I presume it was just some idiot getting kicks out of hurting people he doesn't know.

 :(

B) B) where did you get the celica mats from dude???

They're nice aren't they, they came with the car, I presume that they were standard for the JDM cars, but I may be wrong.

Also I'll be seeing some of you in the GOLD forums soon, thought I'd better, this place has really helped me out loads in the past.

Nice choice with the wheels, mind you expect some people to say 'There prone to corroding' and spoil the moment for you!!! :)

:D Yeah, I was waiting for that!! For £200 with brand new Yokohama tyres they were a bargain to me. I needed 4 tyres at the time and at least I gained an inch!!

(I'm waiting for Booster to say "some of us don't need to gain an inch!!" :D :D :D

you mention the clock is now blue - did you use some tinting film or is it a bulb , if any was it easy enough to do .

i doubt refurbed wheels will flake

I used some blue gel lighting stuff I got from eBay and made a lense from that and took out the old amber lense.

It was fairly easy to do, the clock is really bright blue now, I messed up with trying to glue the new lense in and found that sellotape works perfectly well although if you actually pushed the lense it would pop in as it is not rigid. The clock just pops out and then remove 3 screws, be careful not to lose the little rubber and plastic bits that will fall out. The amber lense is in there pretty tightly and you need to push this through from the front, bits of it may break. Bit short of time now, hope this helps.

Just bought myself another 20 minutes - if anyone's interested here's a review of the celica in complete car magazine in march 1994. there's some interesting stuff here

Not working yet hasn't uploaded properly!

Sorry mate I haven't even that much left. I went for the cheap option and bought the pack of 4 diffferent colours and you only get about 6 X 6 or 7 X 7 of each colour. I'll send you some green :D :D Or you'e welcome to red or yellow!!

Nice one Steve - looking good.

Best place I can recommend is Autostyle - the guy is really helpful and will make a mat to your exact specification. They look great and if you get the Premium set they are exceptionally good quality with leather cloth binding and deep pile carpet.

I'll take some pics of mine I had made for the T-Sport. Look great!

This is where I bought it from, but the item has ended. I reckon if you contact him he should have some more left.

here

It's not that easy to find unless you want a huge roll of it ..just found this

Only 6.50 and a huge sheet, you can mess up as many times as you want.

It creases really easily and looks crap so be really careful and watch those fingerprints.

I tried a few times before getting it right, as there'd always be a print or a small crease that is hard to see, until it's lit up!,
