Carina E Rear Screen Heater

Mis-posted this the first time (in the MPV forum for some odd reason) so trying again...

I have a Carina E 1.8 GS Estate with a non functioning rear screen heater. Have checked the fuse and it's OK. The Relay clicks when you turn the switch on and off. It appears one of the elements is heating up very slightly, but nothing else from it, which seems really odd!?!

Any ideas?

TIA

if you trace through all the horizontal heater bars on the rear screen and check to see if any of them have breakages its could possibly be that the circuits broken on the windscreen somewhere, which unfortunatly would need a replacement screen.

Also check the two contact pins which fix onto the windscreen, cant remember if they fix on the top or the bottom on the estate version

check the metal contacts are nice and shiney to give a good current flow, if not with a stanley knife or sandpaper give them a scrape till there shiney then give it another go :)

hope this helps
