CAN ANYONE HELP!!!

IVE GOT A DRONING FRONT END.I CHANGED THE W/BEARING BUT IT WAS STILL THERE CHECKED EVERYTHING ELSE AND SEEMS OK, AFEW PEOPLE AV SAID IT COULD BE THE DIFF BEARING, WHICH SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT AS IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE A W/BEARING.

IVE PLUCKED UP ENOUGH COURAGE AND STARTED TO DISASEMBLE, GOT THE D/SHAFT, OIL SEAL AND OIL BAFFLE OUT AND I CAN SEE THE BEARING. NICE!! (OR SO I THOUGHT)

IVE TRIED TO TURN IT WITH MY FINGERS TO SEE IF I COULD FEEL ANYTHING WORN BUT I CANT MOVE IT. IT EITHER ONLY TURNS WHEN THE DIFF TURNS OR ITS SEIZED. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IT SHOULD BE LIKE? DONT WANT DO TAKE DIFF CASING OFF IF I DONT HAVE TOO.

HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THIS JOB BEFORE OR TAKEN THE CASING OFF.ANYTHING TO LOOK OUT FOR.!

iff you can get it back together take it to ian at Toyauto centre in nottm (0115 9787844) and let him have a look. never heard of these boxes loosing bearings (unless the box has run dry of oil from leaks). third gear synchro is a weak point. it will be stiff to turn by hand (unless you try turning the wheel).

i woudnt strip any more off. by the way have you got any pictures of what you are dismantling?

no got no pics at the min. rang ian but he's busy till mid march. (just want to drive her again) Put it all together again and going to av it checked out to pin point exactly where the noise is coming from from a garage near me.
