Loved it - had it from new, did 50k in it before selling it this time last year. If I hadn't have needed the cash for the new car I'd have loved to have kept it for the missus to pootle around in. :(

Sorry they're links, can't work out how to make them pics..............keeps saying something about dynamic pics???!! :help::huh:

Leeky, you owned a lex 400 and didn't like it what makes you think you will like the 300?

Anyway:

92 Golf Driver 1.6 (gti look alike)

82 Mini 1000 City (abused this car badly, the doors were rusted through and used to drop to the floor when you opened them and made a nasty grinding noise on right hand turns but I loved that car!)

96 Rover 216 SLI (Actually very quick car but had a weird belt driven automatic box)

94 Clio 1.8 16v (big go kart! Amazing fun)

89 Renault 5 1ltr TL (was a peice of cr*p ripped out the passenger seat as it was wobbly and people had to sit in the back seat renamed it the "Turbo Limo" as it was called a TL, used to get pulled over in that thing all the time!)

92 Renault Clio RT 1.4 (great little car)

96 Celica GT (current)

Not the most impressive list of cars but I have been lucky enough to have small stints of about a month in a load of other cars including Jag Xk8, Mazda MX6, Shogun Turbo, Mazda MX5, Range Rover 4.6 v8, Pug 307 among others.

I had some crap cars but they were good fun then

J Reg Rover Metro 1litre 4 speed- Great fun

N Reg Ford Escort LX - Good Reliable car did lots of miles, but ate brake pads

H Reg Rover Metro 1litre 5 speed - Not as good as the 4 speed only had it for 2 weeks (it was free!)

F Reg Nova - (Bought for the wife to drive) absolute bag of **** didn't last long before we got rid of it.

W Reg Honda CG125 (Ok it's a bike and a slow one) - very reliable and sold it for a profit after a year

P Reg Peugeot 306 DTurbo - Worst car I ever owned - heap of ****

N Reg Seat Ibiza 1.4CLS - OK, crap handling, poor gearbox (mainly wifes car)

W Reg Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat - Very reliable bike

P Reg Toyota Celica 1.8 ST - Best car so far

T reg Ford Focus - Mainly wifes car, but very good and very reliable 2nd best car ever owned

LandRover - Just bought as an off road project - should be finished ina couple of weeks

yeah, but lee's like the anti-dodgy car trader...

he buys duffers at a fair price, spends a fortune fixing them up, then sells them on at a loss!

and sometimes he doesnt even get to enjoy them! a-la esprit!

If i had a bit more knowledge i'd get into that . My mate buys cars at auctions , cars he knows will sell (integras , soarer's and supras lately) and sells them on after a few minor mods for a pretty good profit ! Just recently he picked up a black integra with minor damage and am sure spent a few hundred on repairs and made something ridiculous like two and a half grand on it :o !selling it privately...

He is the kind of person who I'd love to meet in a Dark alley! Can't stand traders that do that! :censor:

why do you know any traders who buy and sell cars for fun ???

he is in business to make money !!! obviously ;)

just because someone makes a decent living doesnt make them a rogue or a thief

and by his description i really dont think you would like to meet him in a dark alley

Traders making out its a private sale. Apart from the fact its illegal it also misleads the honest buyer. You lot are too quick to try and start an argument. If its a case of 'Hebought it from an auction and sold it privately as a trader' then thats fine, and apologies if I misunderstood! I dont begrudge anyone who makes a bit of cash as thats what we all do but I dont like liars! By the way Im not, exactly small myself but again Im not 5 so I wont start the whole my 'mates this' and 'my mates that' malarky!

Back to the thread, it seems like alot of you (with the exception of leeky) bought a wide selection of makes of cars. I half expected list after list of Celica's and other Toyota's. Sotal I like yours the best so far as its completeley random other than the fact you seemed to buy the worst cars available :lol:

The guy works in my uncles garage as a mechanic (They fix not sell)its a bit of extra cash and a hobby ! He fixs up some cars which need to be on the roads that past owners may have abused or broke - integra type r's and supras need to be looked after !! there a dying breed those quality sports cars !

As an "Older member" ;) I started Pre-hot hatch

1275 Mini Cooper S

1300 Mini Metro, with 998 Gearbox, great 0-60 but no top end speed.

3 X 205 GTi, 1 1.6 and 2 x 1.9

205.jpg

Clio 16 Valve, one of the first, it spent more time in the dealer than with me. :( After 9 months the dealer bought it back for what I paid, when I took them to court over it.

Subaru Legacy Turbo, no-one knew what it was, and almost as fast as an Impreza

legacy.jpg

2 x Fiat Seicento sportings, great cars, the true replacement for the Mini coopers, both Wifes/2nd cars

seice006.jpg

redcar2.jpg

Impreza STi, weekend car
