Have run dxdiag and come up with this in the DirectX Files section:

  • The file system.dll is missing!
  • Several files(d3dx9d.dll,d3d9d.ll) are debug versions, which will run slower than the retail version.
  • Ypu should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version.

Have reinstalled directx_dec2005_redist and it still keeps comming up with this list of errors.

Help please as its really starting to get on my nerves :crybaby:

Not sure about the system.dll message, but have you got the DirectX 9 SDK installed too?

the d at the end of the filenames tells you they're debug versions, you should have d3dx9.dll and d3d9.dll too, which are the release ones. You can set which ones are actually being used from the Control Panel, go there and open up the DirectX window. In the Direct3d tab there's the option to switch between retail and debug. If the option is greyed out, you don't have the SDK installed so I've got no idea where the debug dlls came from in the first place.

Done as suggested but still getting the same error messages.

I'm currently running DirectX Version 9.0c(4.09.0000.0904)

Is there anyway to completely remove DirectX and reinstall it from scratch?

Sorry I should have said, just having the debug version installed means you get the errors about the debug dlls whether they're being used or not. You can uninstall the SDK if you don't use it, which should get rid of them (if it doesn't just rename them after you uninstall it). Otherwise, don't worry about it as they're not being used if you've got it set to retail in control panel.
