Mileage Confirmation

:help: Hi I have recenly purchased a 2004 Avensis D4D, is there anyway I could get the mileage confirmed via the on board computer or by some method other than what the speedo is displaying, so I can remove a nagging doubt that the car hasn't covered more miles than are displayed on the clock.

Regards

Paul.

My 54 plate avensis had coverd 9800 miles when i picked it up. What you need to look out for is the ware and tare of the car does it look like its coverd more miles than it says on the clock. If the car has a service history that will help to back up what the clock says. If it has history phone the garage that stamped the book they will have records of work carried out. Mine with 9800 on the clock looked brand new no marks or anything. Does the mileage seem low for its age you should expect to see anything from 10k-25k on a 2 year old car give or take a bit. Also check the previous owner on the log book, may be worth find out what mileage they sold the car with, what the car was used for. The car may of only been used to go to the shops and back once a week so will have a very low reading.

Is it easy to clock an Avensis due to it's electronic mileometer? I have a last of the old shape model, but was just wondering.
