Well i oredered the wheels last week and there was no sign of them for ages. So i called up the place i brought them from and they said that they couldnt get them... even though they took my money 6 days ago and didnt contact me :censor: so now im back to square 1 looking for wheels i like. :ffs:

I have looked at a couple of sets and was just wondering which ones everyone prefered:

1st set is Kahn RSR wheels:

2nd set are Dare V1 wheels: (might need to squint on the photo shop pic as it was harder to do :P )

The Kahn's...

Slight side topic, how do you do the photoshop'ing? I have it, and kinda get the idea of how to use it, but i haven't got a clue how you get parts of a pic transparent (ie, in between the spokes, so you can see the calipurs...) I am going through a similar thing - not being able to get the wheels I want, and being stuck with finding anything else I like the look of off the car, so think it would help me alot to know how to photoshop stuff on to the car...

Thanks!

You need to bring the alloys into the car pic in Photoshop as a layer. That way you can erase through to whats below the top layer, revealing the calipers etc (if you have placed the alloy layer in the right place)

Adam - Not a fan of ether personally. Sorry fella. But out of the two the second alloy down is my fav.

Defiant - Basically the best tool with selecting areas with photoshop is the Lasso tool you could use it to cut out the shape of the alloys, I think it is the magnetic lasso tool I used. which makes it easy.

After a bit of messing around, I found I can paint and fill in 'clear' (transparent), so I am now happily putting wheels on without a problem! :) I have used the magnetic lasso tool before, and find it very annoying when it goes down its own path, rather than the one I wanted it to... Thanks anyways though!

prefer the 6 spokes .. but then again it's like saying I prefer Syphalis to Gonorrhea.

Ha ha ha!

Seriously though Adam, you sound like you are starting to build a monster of a GT4 there with all the mods you have been doing recently. Get some interesting alloys or at least ones which don't look like they are stuck in the 90's. No offence ment but I am starting to like what you are doing with the Four and those two alloy choices are rather dull if you ask me. But hay as is always said on this forum with alloy wheel questions... "it's your choice!".

All depends what you are after. Took me ages to get the rims I was after (having 14", 15", 16" 17" and 18" wheels on my MR2's in the last 5 years) and I've just had them coloured and repaired and they are going on the new car.

I've only seen mine in the flesh on 2 other cars .. both were stripped out 1980's M3's at Nur'. As long as I don't see them on a Pug 306 I'll be happy.

True Bibbs, if he is after the 90's look then they do fit the bill rather well. A guy in the car park has a sliver ST202 and I am sure he has the top ones on his car. I will try and get a pic with the camera phone today for you adam if they are the same/simaler ones, so you can see what they are like on a celica.

You need to find something that suits the car. I think it needs something chunky, but not fussy.

Something dainty will look out of place. And chrome is not "rally slag" enough.

As soon as I got my BBS RX rims I knew they were right.

They are uncomplicated and sporty looking. Being BBS they will take a knock and I love the look on the MR2. I'm a fan of multi-spokes, and rims that are symetrical (dont like the boxters for example), but then need a *bit* or flair.

Just had them totally re-furbed and powder coated in black to go on the new car.

Oz seem to be loosing the plot a bit with the Ripspeed offerings. I'd suggest Google images and have a hunt for ST205's and ST202's with aftermarket rims. Get a few you like and then see if you can find something similar.

I quite liked the look of the deep dish style Fox alloys (especially the five spokes). I looked at them for mine but decided the st202 was not butch enough to pull of the deep dish look, but I bet a ST205 would look great with them. Not exactly "rally slag" though! More like "road racer". If you want the rally slag look then you can't beat a set of multispoke alloys of any discription ideally white or black.

Only downside to those alloys is there gonna look quite small on the car - i had league bandits on an civic and they are a similar design and everyone thought they were 16's not 17's

Nice set of Compomotive mo's maybe ? thats pretty rally slag

I looked at those 6 spoke comp's but they only come in 18s i think and i already have the 17" tyres sitting in my garage :(

The 5 spoke come in 17 tho. Might do a photoshop later

The RSS are gonna cause trouble i think. They need spacers to fit over the breaks and then i think they will hit the arch on the front
