Hi all. Just bought a '98 Landcruiser Colorado, so thought I'd sign up to TOC.

Looking to do a bit of green laneing around the Cotswolds (where I live) and was wondering if anyone else knows of a good 4x4 club in the area ?

Also see your holding a meet in Gaydon, any other landcruisers going ?

Dave.

If I recall it's all to do with the diff lock settings, how much power, pull etc you use, someone will correct me later I'm sure !!

If I remember corectly 2H is the most fuel efficient for everyday road driving as just using the 2 Wheel Drive, but then I could be talking out of my %^&* here, I'll shut up and get my coat till someone who knows what they're talking about comes along :D

i think your right... I use to drive a tractor the same

2H is 2 wheel drive high ratio

2L is 2 wheel drive low ration

same again for 4H and 4L

if I am correct the right way round is that if you were going up a steep bank yo would use 4L and if you were doing normal muddy road you would use 4H

so many years ago since i done it... I used to do crosss country in a land rover too...

2L- 2 wheel drive low ratio..good grip/high torque

2H- 2 wheel drive high ratio good grip/road use

4L- 4 wheel drive low ratio...loose grip/high torque

4H- 4 wheel drive high ratio...grip/high pull good stability

thats roughly it from experiance

My better half has just reminded me the family is up to visit that weekend of the TOC Autumn Meeting.

So unfortunately looks like I won't be going, unless, of course I can convince them all to come for a day out.
