Spare Battery

Hi, I have got a spare Battery which has not been used for about three or four years. I stuck it on charge using a 6A charger. After about two hours I noticed that there was about 50ml of fuild leaking from the positive terminal.

Is ok for me to continue charging the Battery or is it completely buggered? The Battery has only been used in a car for about 6 months

Would it be better to charge the battery using my car?

Sounds like you might have a bad cell. assuming that this isn't a non maintenance Battery. Try topping up the Battery with Battery water again to the correct levels. And tighten the screws on top. begin charging again. If the battery isn't fizzing and battery acid isn't pouring out of the top again than it seems that it will be ok.
