Lucida Turbo Problems!

Hi There,

Can anyone out there let me know how difficult it is to change the turbo on a lucida. I've managed to source the part. Just need to know if I can fit it with a couple of spanners or should I take it to a garage? I've got a fairly decent knowledge of mechanics but have limited tools just a basic builders tool kit!

Garage job im afraid There isnt much room via the engine hatch to get to the turbo. I'd say your gonna have to drop the engine to get to it properly.

It is quite simple to change the turbo, i'd never done one before but it looked very easy to get to, so i gave it a go. It took me 6 hours, but i think i could do it in 3 or less having done the job all you need is a 10 mm 12 and 14mm sockets and same in ring spanners (good quality) and a pozi screwdriver..

if you're going to give it a go get back to me and i'll talk you through it.

eBay , but it'll be a used part or a second hand imported from Japan (or so they say ) it's a case of take your chance as a new one would cost in the region of £300 + plus the labour £300 - £400 from a garage..

I paid £70 and fitted it my self, it took the best part of a saturday... but saved a bundle.
